Hi dear sweet momma. How are you? I hear you would like to homeschool your children?? Is this true?   

I want you to know if I can do it, you can do it. I am for you. I am on your side.   

First and foremost, take it to the Lord, Jesus, in prayer. Always take big decisions to the Lord first. Actually, take ALL decisions to the Lord. God’s word says in Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and light to my path. Seek Him and He will direct your steps. Seek His word and His will for your life and your families’ lives. See what He wants from you? When He calls you, He equips you to do the job.   

For me I prayed over this for my oldest for about 2 years. I wanted to know what the Lord had for me and my child and if it was in His will not mine.  

Look for your state laws on homeschooling. Read up on them and figure out your guidelines for your state. Then look into umbrella schools in your state as well. They are who you will be under depending on who you go through. If you go through your state or a church related school. 

How I figured out how back 17 years ago, is I asked around to a few people I knew who homeschooled and asked them a ton of questions.

I gathered valuable information. I also attended a curriculum fair and a workshop, and that wealth of information gave me the momentum to hit the ground running.  

Next, I searched and found and bought some curriculum.

You can get very overwhelmed by all the choices there are today for curriculum choices.

Momma, no worries, take it to Jesus. He will guide you. Maybe a certain curriculum is good this year and not the next. Maybe you can afford it this year and not the next. The Lord will provide for you sweet momma. You got this. Most importantly, God’s got you!   

I recommend signing up with/for HSLDA membership. It stands for Homeschool Legal Defense Association https://hslda.org/ I sign up every year and it’s on auto renewal. I have been doing this for the past 9 years. They also have a lot of credible resources on their website you can search out.  

This whole process requires a lot of research but is well worth it all. I still continue to research and change things up if certain things are not working for us in the season that we are in. Seasons change.

Finally, just start. If you mess up and fail. You get to start over the next day and the next and the next. You are in charge of your schooling and your sweet babes.
